Field Availabality
As the Sports Development Coordinator for the City of Mesa, I have - in my inventory - two, 3-field baseball complexes: Red Mountain and Autry. If you're in need of the fields for practice, play, or a tournament, contact me so we can discuss availability, details, etc.
Red Mountain is located on Brown Road and the Loop 202. With the opening of the northernmost loop of the 202, the complex has terrific access. Autry - the former spring training home of the Anaheim Angels - is on McKellips, 2 miles south of the Loop 202. Next to Falcon Field Municipal Airport, the complex also is the training site of the Arizona Rattlers and home to Gateway Community College.
In my tenure since mid-January, the fields have hosted an NCAA Division III tournament, NJCAA Region playoff series, 2A high school baseball games, numerous youth baseball tournaments (Top Choice, Triple Crown, Play Ball Arizona, USSSA Baseball, etc), and even a promotional video shoot for a top prospect from Gilbert. Additionally, I've received four phone calls from out-of-state schools who are looking to practice/play in Mesa during their respective spring breaks in March 2011. I also spoke to two high school athletic directors yesterday about hosting a spring high school baseball tournament at the Red Mountain complex.
If you're interested in utilizing the fields, please contact me at or 480.644.3337. I hope to hear from you.
Marc A. Beasley, Sports Development Coordinator
Parks, Recreation, and Commercial Department
City of Mesa
Out-of-state team information:
March 21-25; Oregon, 2A school, 185 students
March 21-25; Iowa, 4A school, 1900 students
March 21-26; Illinois, 4A school, 3075 students
March 28-April 1; Ohio, Division I school, 2700 students
April 20-24; Ohio, Division 5 school, 350 students
If interested in picking up a game against one of these schools, please contact me directly. All games will be held at Red Mountain Baseball Complex in Northeast Mesa (near Red Mountain High School). These three fields are ideal for hosting multiple games in a festival-type atmosphere My Sports Dreams. I believe you will find it a quick and easy way to raise money for needed equipment or any other reason. Go to http://www.mysportsdreams.com/azbca for more information. You are under no obligation to use this company but many schools have raised thousands of dollars with MySportsDreams. |
